Torres del Paine 2027 tickets are not on sale yet: fees await the budget office and the new parks service would get half the planned funds

Less than two months before 2027, the official Pases Parques platform does not sell Torres del Paine tickets for dates next year. According to Magallanes deputy Alejandro Riquelme, Conaf's executive director, Aída Baldini, told him on 26 October that the delay is because the Budget Office (Dipres) has not ruled on 2027 fees. The deputy sent formal requests to both institutions to open advance sales, El Tirapiedras and Radio Polar reported on 6 and 7 November.

As of Sunday 8 November there was no public response from Conaf or Dipres. Tickets for the rest of 2026 are on sale at pasesparques.cl, the only official platform.

What is happening with Torres del Paine tickets for 2027

Riquelme asked Conaf and Dipres for three things: open advance sales, post a visible notice on the platform in Spanish and English with an estimated opening date, and coordinate a solution. His first request to Conaf (No. 27049) went unanswered for a week, so he sent a second one. He asked Dipres whether a fee adjustment is pending and what is holding up the tickets.

"We cannot expect to compete with the world's great tourist destinations" without guaranteed advance sales, the deputy said, adding that the uncertainty hurts hotels, agencies and transport operators in Magallanes. According to figures cited in the report, about 76% of Torres del Paine's revenue is generated between November and March.

The SBAP and Chile's national parks in 2027: a 21.6 billion peso gap

The fee delay coincides with the budget debate for protected areas, which Congress must pass by 30 November. In March 2027, park management moves from Conaf to the new Biodiversity and Protected Areas Service (SBAP), a change we explain in this story.

A report by Fundación Terram, released on 7 November, uses Dipres data to calculate that the 2027 budget bill gives the SBAP 22,304 million pesos, against the 43,925 million Dipres itself estimated in 2022 for the law's fourth year: a gap of 21,621 million pesos. In 2026 the service received 17,393 million of the 35,958 million projected.

Terram warns there is no commitment to fund the 570 new rangers foreseen by the law.

What to do if you are visiting Torres del Paine in 2027

  • Check pasesparques.cl regularly: it is Conaf's only official ticket sale; tour operators can buy for you, with a surcharge.
  • Book what is already open first: refuges and campsites on the W and O circuits, buses from Puerto Natales and accommodation.
  • Keep proof of your other bookings: Conaf requires a ticket to enter the trails, and the 2+ day pass covers up to 10 consecutive days.
  • Plan your hike early: see our Torres del Paine trekking guide and the guided W trek.

On Sunday 8 November there was also a fire alert in the park's Laguna Azul sector: according to El Pingüino, the fire destroyed a small shed housing a generator, did not spread to vegetation and was brought under control by local residents and forest fire crews. Senapred has an early preventive alert for winds of up to 110 km/h in Magallanes. If you are travelling these days, check with Conaf before setting out.
