What the Ojos del Caburgua are
Lake Caburgua formed in a glacial valley that was dammed by lava flows from the Caburgua volcanoes. Its water does not leave through a surface river: it seeps underground and reappears several kilometers to the south in a series of turquoise falls and pools. Those are the "ojos" (eyes).
