Termas Geométricas: the hot springs are now called Termas Martini, what changed, prices and how to get there

The Termas Geométricas, the most photographed hot springs in southern Chile, are still open, but under another name: since 1 October 2026 they have operated as Termas Martini, run by the family that owns the land. The operator that built them and made them famous left the site on 30 September, after an arbitration ruling ended the lease, according to BioBioChile and Emol.

The place is the same: a native-forest ravine next to Villarrica National Park, about 16 kilometres from Coñaripe, in the district of Panguipulli (Los Ríos Region), with 18 stone pools linked by a red wooden boardwalk. This guide explains what changed, how much it costs and how to get there.

What happened to the Termas Geométricas

The hot springs operated for 24 years under a lease between the company linked to architect Germán del Sol and the Martini family, which owns the land. According to the family, an arbitration ruling ended the contract for "serious breaches" and ordered the facilities to be returned. The operator, for its part, highlighted what it built: according to its head of operations, Gustavo Aravena, the flow went from 1 litre per second to more than 17. The dispute over the reasons remains open.

Patricio Martini says that "the Termas Geométricas are not closing for good" and that his family cleared the first springs and built the first pool in 1980. Meanwhile, the Termas Geométricas website announces a new location "soon": according to Diario Financiero, cited by Diario de Osorno, the brand belongs to Germán del Sol, who will create a new project at a location yet to be decided.
