The VYVA 2026 International Travel and Holiday Fair will no longer take place this weekend: it has been rescheduled for Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November at Parque Ciudad Empresarial, in Huechuraba, Santiago. Organisers cited "force majeure" after the recent rain in Santiago and forecasts of more, Chile's tourism board Sernatur reported on October 22, 2026.

The fair was scheduled for October 23 to 25, as we explained in our guide to the VYVA 2026 fair. The suspension was announced at midday on Wednesday 21 and the new dates were confirmed that afternoon, according to Ladevi.

The change puts the fair on a weekend with public holidays: Saturday October 31 is Evangelical and Protestant Churches Day, and Sunday November 1 is All Saints' Day. As they fall on a Saturday and Sunday, they do not create a long weekend, as we explained in Chile's remaining public holidays in 2026.

What happens to VYVA fair tickets

  • Nothing to do: general admission tickets already bought are valid for the new dates, with no changes needed.
  • Refunds: anyone who cannot attend can request a refund through Passline's official channels, under its refund policy.
  • Exhibitors: the organisers said they will contact each one to review their case according to their commercial agreements.

"The safety and peace of mind of our visitors and exhibitors is our top priority", said Guillermo Correa, president of the Chilean Association of Tourism Companies (Achet). The suspension letter was signed by Interexpo, Fedetur, Achet, Hoteleros de Chile and the Chilean Gastronomy Association (Achiga), together with Sernatur and the Undersecretariat of Tourism.

October 2026 has been one of the wettest months of the year in central Chile. Between October 19 and 21 there was a red alert in the Santiago Metropolitan Region and mountain roads were closed, and forecasts pointed to more rain towards the weekend.

Tips for making the most of the new dates

  • Compare before buying: check the price of the same package on the operator's website; our guide on how much it costs to travel in Chile is a useful reference.
  • Factor in the season: travel prices rose over the past year, according to the Tourism Barometer.
  • Check the weather on the day: if it rains again, the organisers will post any change of hours on their social media.
