Vacaciones Tercera Edad: Sernatur adds 4,000 places for Escapadas trips, from CLP 84,070

Vacaciones Tercera Edad, the senior travel program of Chile's National Tourism Service (Sernatur), has added 4,000 new places in its Escapadas mode, with all-inclusive packages of 3 or 4 days starting at CLP 84,070 per person. Places are bought directly from authorized agencies, with no prior application, Radio Pudahuel reported on October 27, 2026, citing the agency.

The prices in this story are those published on the program's official website, vacacionesterceraedad.cl, checked on October 28, 2026: they are per person in a double room in mid season, already including the state subsidy. They may change.

Trips run from March to December, in mid and low season, because the program aims to boost tourism in the months of lower demand.

A recent example: on October 27, Sernatur Antofagasta reported that 46 seniors from Sierra Gorda traveled on an Escapada to Taltal for the first time, with municipal funding. In that region, 580 seniors are traveling to Taltal in the 2025-2026 season, with an investment of CLP 95,983,542.

Requirements and how to buy

  • People aged 60 or over, Chilean or foreign with a valid Chilean ID card.
  • Retirees and pensioners over 18, even if under 60, proving their status with their latest pension statement.
  • People over 18 with a disability, who may travel with a companion who helps them take part in activities.
  • Buying: regular places are sold by the program's travel agencies. Social places are handled through municipalities and seniors' clubs.
