When is ski season in Chile: a guide by resort

Chile's ski season is concentrated between June and September, with some resorts extending into October depending on how the winter went, since snowfall varies from year to year more than it typically does in the Northern Hemisphere.

July: peak season

July is by far the busiest month: it coincides with Chile's school winter break and with peak season for Northern Hemisphere skiers taking advantage of their summer to travel south. Lift ticket and lodging prices rise accordingly, so it's worth booking ahead.

June, August and September: shoulder season

June (start of season) and August-September (end of season) tend to have fewer crowds and better prices, though snow quality depends more on that specific year's weather -sometimes June already has excellent snow, other times it only builds up enough to open every run by July.

Before traveling specifically to ski, it's worth checking each resort's slope status directly through their official channels, since the exact opening and closing dates change every year based on snowfall, not a fixed date on the calendar.
