Nevados de Chillán, in the Ñuble region, combines something no other Chilean resort offers at the same scale: ski slopes and natural hot springs fed by the activity of Chillán Volcano, still active today.
One of the longest runs in South America
The resort is known for having one of the longest downhill runs on the continent, covering several kilometers of vertical drop in a single descent -something uncommon even compared to the larger resorts near Santiago.
The hot springs, the edge over other resorts
Ending a day of skiing in outdoor hot spring pools, surrounded by snow, is the experience that sets Chillán apart from Chile's other resorts. Several hotels in the area (known as Termas de Chillán) have their own thermal pools included for guests.
Nevados de Chillán is about 5-6 hours from Santiago by car, or it can be combined with a flight to Concepción followed by a shorter overland transfer, an option several international visitors choose to save travel time.
